The first step in getting started with CARBON is bringing in your data to the CARBON Platform. You may start by bringing in your website data, so that you can enrich your website visitors’ data with real-world attributes. And/or you may bring in your mobile app data, so that you can enrich your app users’ data with real-world attributes.
These real-world attributes include where do they live, which brands do they prefer, how far do they travel, what are their interests, etc., all appended to your data and available to you in a privacy compliant way.
A private instance of your account combined with 256-bit AES and SSL/TLS encryption and other stringent security measure helps security and privacy of your first-party data during transmission, storage and processing.

This is the recommended first step as it’s the easiest. It’s as simple as copying and pasting a small code called CARBON Pixel on to your website.
The Pixel will be able to gather anonymous Cookie data as visitors come to your website. CARBON then uses proprietary CrossMatrixTM technology to convert these Cookie data to privacy safe CARBON IDs leveraging Near’s massive data on 1.6 Billion users across 44 countries. Once this matching is done your data is ready to be enriched, all in real-time.

To bring in your mobile app data such as Device IDs along with relevant parameters, you need to use the CARBON Snippet - again a small line of code that you bundle within your app.
The Snippet will be able to gather anonymous Device ID data as users open and use your app. CARBON then converts these to privacy safe CARBON IDs leveraging Near’s massive data on 1.6 Billion users across 44 countries, and present to you in the dashboard for enrichment. You may select from 100s of CARBON data attributes to enrich your own data.

You may use the CARBON API to bring in your data without using CARBON Pixel or CARBON Snippet. Though we highly recommend starting with the Pixel and/or the Snippet as the API setup is more complex and time consuming.
The API is for advanced users who wishes to push the data required by CARBON via an API. CARBON will then verify the incoming data structure and use as in #1 and/or #2 before you are able to enrich your data.
